Montessori Campuses in Palos Verdes & Redondo Beach

Peninsula Montessori School has served South Bay families since 1978. We run two campuses, one in Rancho Palos Verdes and one in Redondo Beach, with the same Montessori program, the same standards for our guides, and the same approach to how a classroom should feel.

The practical difference between them is age range and location. This page should help you work out which one fits your family.

Palos Verdes Campus

Our Palos Verdes campus on Hawthorne Boulevard is the larger of the two and the only one offering elementary. A child can begin in the toddler program at 18 months and stay through 5th grade without changing schools, which means their guides know them across years rather than months.

Elementary is grouped in pairs: Transition for kindergarten and 1st grade, Lower Elementary for 2nd and 3rd, Upper Elementary for 4th and 5th. Older students routinely teach the younger ones, which is one of the quieter advantages of the structure. Explaining something to a second grader is how a third grader finds out whether they really understand it.

Extended care runs 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Redondo Beach Campus

Our Redondo Beach campus on Knob Hill Avenue serves the early years, 18 months through age 5, covering the stretch of childhood where the foundation gets built.

It is a smaller community by design. For families in Redondo, Hermosa, and Manhattan Beach, it offers an authentic Montessori program close to home, with extended care 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Both campuses run tours during the school day, so you see classrooms in use rather than empty rooms after hours. Call either location with questions, or book a tour and visit both.
