Pre-Primary

(2.5 – 5 years)

The Pre-Primary Program—often referred to as the Children’s House—is the cornerstone of early Montessori education. At Peninsula Montessori School, this stage provides children with a strong foundation for both academic and personal growth.

Within our warm, multi-age classrooms, younger children are inspired by observing their older peers, while older children naturally develop confidence and leadership as mentors.

This dynamic environment creates a thriving community where respect, cooperation, and independence are woven into daily life.

During these years, children experience a powerful period of development in language, mathematics, and social awareness. Their innate curiosity and capacity for learning flourish when given the freedom to explore within a carefully prepared environment.

Each day, they engage in meaningful work that builds concentration, independence, and a true joy in learning—skills that form the basis for lifelong success.

Growing Toward Independence

The Pre-Primary Program is where children truly blossom into independent, curious, and capable learners. Building on the foundations laid in the Toddler Community, they refine their practical skills, expand their social awareness, and take their first joyful steps into academic discovery. Each child is guided at their own pace, supported by teachers who nurture both their strengths and their challenges.

By the time they complete the Pre-Primary years, children are not only prepared for the next stage of their Montessori journey—they are eager for it. With confidence, independence, and a growing love of learning, they step into the elementary years ready to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
