Upper Elementary
(9 – 11 years)
The Upper Elementary Program at Peninsula Montessori School is a time of independence, abstract thinking, and purposeful learning.
At this stage, students are eager to test ideas, think critically, and engage in meaningful work that challenges their growing intellect. They are increasingly aware of their role in the larger community and take pride in guiding younger peers while contributing to the life of the classroom.
In this dynamic environment, learning extends beyond memorization to deep exploration and research.
Students pursue knowledge through independent projects, hands-on experiments, and collaborative studies that prepare them for the academic and personal responsibilities of middle school and beyond.
The program fosters leadership, accountability, and self-motivation, encouraging students to see themselves as capable, confident learners and contributors.
